I’m Liz Barta, a Licensed Professional Counselor with over eight years of clinical experience working with children, teens, adults, and families.
I hold my LPC in Colorado and my LCPC in Illinois. I earned my Master’s in Integral Counseling Psychology from the California Institute of Integral Studies — a program that shaped my deeply humanistic, whole-person approach to therapy.
I believe the therapeutic relationship itself is one of the most powerful tools for change. When you have a safe, unbiased space to bring your most difficult feelings, experiences, and patterns, something shifts. The therapy room becomes a container — a place where pain can be held, explored, and gently transformed. For many clients, that experience of being fully accepted as they are is the beginning of real, lasting change in their lives.
I feel especially called to work with younger clients. Working with children has always come naturally to me — it’s easy for me to connect with kids and help them feel seen, heard, and understood. I typically work with children navigating familial stress, ADHD, learning difficulties, and behavioral challenges, using play as their natural language for processing and growth. Adolescence is its own kind of difficult — confusing, painful, and full of big questions about identity and belonging. I’m deeply passionate about providing teenagers with unconditional support, empathy, and a space where they don’t have to have it all figured out.
For all clients, my work goes beyond symptom management. Rather than simply addressing what’s on the surface, I’m interested in exploring the deeper patterns and experiences that shape how you move through the world. When a client feels truly seen and accepted, something shifts — and that inner change, I believe, is what makes outer change possible.
